Week 8 | Dvalidze

One of the most beloved and familiar companies to date has established a solid identity in the industry partly thanks to a strong logo.

1. The most dominant gestalt principle at play is continuation. The arc leads the viewer's eye through the logo, down to the company name "Walt Disney Pictures." We also see the closure principle in the logo. The castle is merely a blocked outline, leaving the viewer's eye in charge of completing the rest of the picture.

2. A children oriented company, the logo carries a fairy tale appeal that will attract its audience.

3. The black and white cut out form works very successfully for the logo. The typography is also very successful. The softer, signature name title combines well with clean cut, yet vintage serif "Pictures" type.
