Week 8 | Leveille

1. Continuation is used in the Honey Nut Cheerios logo because the image leads the eye to the text of the logo.

2. Cheerful, appetizing and the company's goal to please the customer in the morning.

3. The logo uses shades of yellow and red. Since cereal is food, the colors are definitely suitable. The position of the bee's left hand and the honey frame the words "Honey Nut" in order to lead the eye to the name of the cereal. The cheerio used as the dot over the "i" is also proportional the the space between "Honey" and "Nut. It is also a use of the product itself in the logo. I could also argue that the gestalt principle similarity is used in the logo because the bee, which produces honey, is holding some just above the word "Honey." The typography is a simple, easy-to-read, serif font that further emphasizes the general mood of the logo. Even though there isn't a bowl of cereal, it's clear that this is a logo for a cereal brand because of the single cheerio over the "i" and the sunshine it seems to portray.
