Week 11 | Palermo

A website that I consider to be user friendly is amazon.com. The feature I use the most on this site is the search bar positioned at the top of the page. I like how you can choose to search in a certain department and then within those departments search for specific attributes. (ex: Under music you can select to search by: artist name, album title and song title). I also like how under each department it gives you a list of the bestselling products, which may introduce you to popular new releases. Once in a search you can use the attributes listed in the column on the left side of the page to narrow the results down further. Another great feature about Amazon is that it uses your browsing or purchasing history to display a list of items on the home screen that were purchased by people who also bought products in your browsing history. The presence of this feature on the home screen works because it catches the users eye, invites them to browse and increases the amount of time that users stay on Amazon's website. On the main department pages (TV and Movies, Music, Books etc) spotlights are placed on new and upcoming products making it easy to find new release products.
